As we continue to grow, we're looking for a candidate with 5-7 years of landscape architectural experience to help us to continue to push the boundaries of urban design and create lasting impact in rapidly evolving cities.

JOB SUMMARY 

As a Landscape Architect at Hawkins Partners, you will play a key role in the design and execution of urban landscape projects. This position involves managing all aspects of the landscape architectural process, from conceptual design through construction documentation and administration. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create innovative, sustainable solutions for complex urban environments. The role requires a blend of creative design skills, technical expertise, and project management capabilities.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and contribute to the design of urban landscape projects from concept through construction documentation

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Develop and refine design concepts, including sketches, 3D models, and presentation materials

  • Prepare technical drawings, construction documentation, and specifications

  • Perform construction administration duties, including site visits and contractor coordination

  • Mentor staff and contribute to the firm's knowledge base

  • Contribute to the firm's digital design workflow, utilizing and exploring new technologies and software

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, with a focus on urban projects. 

  • Licensed Landscape Architect in Tennessee or ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Vectorworks (within three months) and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Adept at developing digital 3D landscape architectural models (Within Rhino or Revit is preferred), including developing final renderings in Lumion or Enscape. 

  • Knowledge of construction detailing, grading, planting design, and sustainable design practices

  • Excellent graphic communication skills including strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

 

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Proficient in using Revit to develop construction documentation. 

  • Experience working with the application of AI platforms to landscape architecture. 

  • Ability to use Grasshopper within Rhino to develop design concepts and improve workflow

  • Has a willingness to learn new software and understand potential applications to enhance our office's services.  

  • Experience with or interest in community engagement and participatory design processes
