Madison CommunityCenter
In recent years, the Madison community has changed rapidly as Nashville has grown. The existing park and community center were showing their age and needed to be updated.
In partnership with Metro Parks and Hastings Architects, Hawkins Partners oversaw a public engagement process. In 2015, the team hosted multiple community meetings to define the vision for Madison park and then to refine the plan during the process. The team developed a master plan for the park, which included a range of athletic fields and courts, a new playground,
a dog park, and walking paths. The new community center will include exercise and meeting rooms. Hawkins Partners designed the landscape to thoughtfully incorporate stormwater infrastructure with the building.
The team developed a master plan with a value of over $11 million in improvements. Phase 1 construction was completed in 2018.
