Among the latest of the Green and Complete Street concepts in Nashville is the Division Street Extension. Hawkins Partners, working with the Department of Public Works, and the Gresham Smith Engineering team, worked through conceptual design to construction documents for the separated cycle track, pedestrian sidewalks, and all green infrastructure elements of the streetscape. This boulevard will not only increase mobility and access across the city, but will facilitate important bicycle, vehicular and pedestrian connections within Nashville’s emerging SOBRO area.

The design is a complete street and encourages multi-modal transportation. HPI responsibilities included bicycle and pedestrian amenities, bridge railings and aesthetics, and sustainable stormwater elements for this green street.
