Edmondson Park
Edmondson Park is a 1.5-acre park located on Charlotte Pike between 16th Ave. North and 17th Ave. North, just blocks from the heart of downtown Nashville, Tennessee. It is adjacent to the J. Henry Hale Apartments and the Youth Opportunity Center. Edmondson Park was dedicated to the renowned sculptor William Edmondson the 1970’s.
Most of the elements of the park—from topography, to path configuration, to material selection—draw on the simple, evocative forms of Edmondson’s work. The project includes enhanced grading, several community-gathering spaces, natural elements for play, and a quarter-mile walking loop. HPI was responsible for the design and detailing of site related elements as well as community engagement throughout the project.
