Mars Petcare, a division of global giant Mars Inc, made a commitment to Franklin, Tennessee as it commissioned a new, 224,000 square-foot office building, completed in 2019.  Hawkins Partners designed the landscape around the building, which was designed by Hastings Architecture.  The campus extends beyond traditional terraces or sitting areas, in part because employees are encouraged to bring their dogs to work, so many are outdoors throughout the day.  

Hawkins Partners worked closely with the development and design teams to create a new paradigm for Mars that broadens the vision and understanding of modern day offices where the boundary of the traditional work space is open for interpretation.  Some of the spaces we added to the brief include flexible outdoor work areas, gathering spaces for programs, an enormous dog run, and a terrace extending the café.  We note that Mars Petcare often supports other kinds of events related to their sponsorship including a NASCAR exhibition.
