McCabe Community Center

The McCabe Park Community Center is a redevelopment of an existing 10,720 s.f. community center. As part of the design team, HPI was involved in community meetings, site development and landscape related construction documents.

The new 26,000 s.f. center was sited to protect large existing trees and historic site features. Pedestrian connections to the neighborhood, adjacent parks, golf course and greenway were important. A number of sustainable features are incorporated including porous pavement, rain gardens, and a 2,750 s.f. extensive green roof. This new construction is to attain LEED - Silver Certification.
