Nashville: Naturally Davidson County Open Space Plan
Hawkins Partners was a part of the planning team, led by The Conservation Fund, that developed the Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County Open Space Master Plan. The project was a joint public/private effort between The Land Trust for Tennessee and the Metro Government of Nashville and Davidson County.
In addition to public workshops, the plan involved coordination and outreach with multiple City departments (i.e. Public Works, Water Services, Parks, etc.) and many non-govern-mental organizations (i.e. Land Trust for Tennessee, Cumberland River Compact, etc.).
The project inventoried critical natural and cultural resources for the City’s entire 526 square miles and created a plan for conservation and development of these resources. HPI also led a focused open space study of down-town as an element of the countywide plan.
